Milnrow Sea Anglers Secretaries Report 2006

Membership has remained high although 25% of members have not been on any club trips or in some cases attended very few meetings.

Boat Trips a lot of cancelled trips at the present time out of 31 days scheduled. (Some of these were additional trips to replace cancelled trips or late additions), 13 trips or 40% have been cancelled mostly for the weather but 1 because of administrative problems and the Conwy trips because of skipper personal problems. With 2 trips left let's hope next year is an improvement.

Link up with Bury to fish Friendly competition proved successful with trips planned for Caernarfon and Whitby next year to enable competitions over 2 days for those interested in staying over or just turn up on the day and fish for your club

Date July the 7th and 8th at Whitby Shore fishing will also be part of the competition and overall results will count towards the Challenge Trophy which has been won this Year by Milnrow.

The clubs will be offering half of the places on each day to the other clubs members, For further details see Paul or Dennis

It should also be noted that on some trips weather was not very kind and inshore trips resulted although this led to an excellent inshore Plaice trip at Fleetwood.

Weymouth's October trip proving a classic with 1 day cancelled and 1 day very rough but producing some cracking fish.

Results have been variable with some nice fish being caught and good numbers of species on some trips .

This year has seen a Few less species recorded number of species being caught Standing at 30 in total and leading angler PW again on 25 another new record for the club.

Biggest Round fish a 30lb Tope Mark Benger

best Flat fish Thornback Ray 8lb 9 oz Babis Limberios but this is at question because of unreported results from fleetwood where Gary caught an estimated 10lb Thornback Ray.

Investigations are underway to resolve this.
