Milnrow Sea Anglers AGM minutes Dec 1998

PRESENT

Paul Whiting ,Bryn Gooding, Jim Kelly, Rod Pearson, Ray Burgess, Bob Walker, Graham Coupe, Mick Rodgers, Mark Benger, Dennis Denman, Dave Taylor, Bill Schofield, Ken Snape

Apologies Trevor Reeson, Jeff Cumpstay.

The minutes of the previous AGM were read and approved by all present

Matters arising

The deposit at Holyhead was discovered to be for £10.00 and it was agreed that this should be written off.

Election of officers

The Chairman Mark Benger declined re election , all other officers agreed to carry on .

Rod Pearson was proposed and elected unanimously as the new Chairman in conjunction with his other duties as publicity officer.

A vote of thanks for the committee was proposed and agreed by all present.

D Taylor proposed an increase of subs to £16 , which was carried after a vote .

P whiting proposed that their should be concessions for Disabled, Retired , Unemployed and Juniors which was to be £5 reduction, this was voted on and carried.

A proposal by Jim Kelly that no rubbish be thrown overboard was voted on and carried unanimously.

B Gooding proposed that a shore fishing venue should be available on all boat fishing dates , as an alternative when boat trips are cancelled. This was accepted as a good idea by all present , K Snape agreed to investigate.

The club agreed to continue its membership off the RNLI.

P Whiting proposed a new award of Member of the year , to be voted on at the AGM by all members present. This was voted on unanimously. It was also agreed that the prize would be a free trip in the following year .

The Treasurer presented his report which was proposed by B Gooding and seconded by D Taylor.

A vote of thanks was proposed and agreed by all present for Irene Schofield for the excellent buffet at the 1998 presentation evening .

Any other business

last trip of the year was discussed

Holiday trip venue was discussed but not resolved.
